Investors David Andonian Dave Andonian is Managing Partner at Dace Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm with over $70 million under management, investing in the Next Wave of innovations in digital media, consumer marketing and mobile services. Dave has over 28 years experience as an operating executive, in M&A and as an investor while growing technology-based software, hardware and marketing service companies. Dave has acquired or invested in more than 40 companies and has sat on 18 boards of directors of technology companies ranging from start-ups to publicly traded companies. Before founding Dace, Dave was an entrepreneur-in-residence for Flagship Ventures, in Cambridge, MA, and subsequently became chairman/CEO of Affinnova, a consumer marketing services company. He previously served as President and COO at CMGI, at the time the world’s largest Internet venture, incubating and operating company. At CMGI, Dave worked closely on the growth and IPO’s of Navisite (Nasdaq: NAVI) and Engage (OTC: ENGA), as well as AdSmart, AltaVista, iCast and others. Dave also held executive sales and marketing positions with PictureTel and at IBM where he was GM and VP of Worldwide Marketing for the PC Division. Dave currently serves on the boards of TerreStar (Nasdaq: TSTR), Affinnova, auctionPAL, CityVoter, Panraven and Vitrue. Timothy C. Draper Tim Draper is the Founder and a Managing Director of Draper Fisher Jurvetson. His original suggestion to use "viral marketing" in web-based e-mail to geometrically spread an Internet product to its market was instrumental to the successes of Hotmail and YahooMail, and has been adopted as a standard marketing technique to hundreds of businesses. He was an original venture capital investor in Parametric Technology (PMTC), Tumbleweed Communications (TMWD), Overture.com (OVER), Digidesign (AVID), Preview Travel (TVLY), Four11 (YHOO), Combinet (CSCO), and Redgate (AOL). Previous successes include: Skype (EBAY), Overture.com (YHOO), Baidu (BIDU), Parametric Technology (PMTC), Hotmail (MSFT), PLX Technologies (PLXT), Preview Travel (TVLY) and Digidesign (AVID), among others. Tim is regularly featured as a keynote speaker in entrepreneurial conferences throughout the world, has been recognized as a leader in his field through numerous awards and honors, and has frequent TV radio, and headline appearances. He has a BS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. David Flaschen David Flaschen, who has 20 years of executive experience in the information services industry, joined Castanea Partners as an Operating Partner. Prior to joining Castanea, David was a Managing Director at Flagship Ventures, having joined the firm in 2000. Prior to Flagship, he was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Thomson Financial, a billion dollar information services company focused on the financial industry. Previously, David served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Donnelley Marketing Inc., a venture capital-backed consumer information services firm that was acquired by First Data Corporation. Prior to 1995, he was with Dun and Bradstreet for 10 years including serving as the President of AC Nielsen, North America. Prior to AC Nielsen, David was at IMS, an information solutions company for the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries, where he was a pioneer in software development outsourcing which led to the founding of Cognizant (NASDAQ: CTSH). David has served as a Director of TripAdvisor (purchased by Interactive Corp, NASDAQ: IACI) and OnExchange (purchased by The Options Clearing Corp). He serves as a Director and Audit Committee Chair of Paychex, Inc. (NASDAQ: PAYX) as well as several privately held companies including Affinity Express, and Maptuit. David also serves as an advisor to Affinnova. Previously, David has been an investor, board director and/or advisor to Black Duck, Azima, DebtX, BuyerZone, and e-Dialog. David was a founding investor in the management buyout of Survey Sampling, Inc. that was recently acquired by Providence Equity Partners. David has a degree from Brown University and earned an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. |
