Privacy Overview Panraven takes your privacy very seriously. This Privacy Policy describes exactly how Panraven uses identifiable information about our members, such as name, address, email address and credit card number ('Customer Information'), whether required for registration and online transactions or optional for completing a member profile. Primarily, we collect such information in order to improve and customize your experience with the Panraven Site and software (collectively called the 'Service'). Except as specifically outlined in this Privacy Policy, Panraven does not sell, rent or share Customer Information with third parties. In this Privacy Policy, you will find the answers to the following questions:
What Customer Information does Panraven collect? Customer Information is often requested when you choose to use the Service. The type of Customer Information requested relates to the type of activity you are performing on the Site. For example: When you log in and access your personal Panraven website, we ask you to provide your display name and password so that we can verify your identity. When you share your photos with 'friends', we ask for all of their email addresses. When you make a purchase from Panraven, we ask you to provide shipping and billing information so that we can fulfill your request. When you use the Service, we collect Traffic Data, so that we can work on making the Site easier to use. The information we specifically track can include your (i) inbound IP address; (ii) domain server; (iii) type of computer; (iv) type of web browser ; (v) access times; (vi) referring web site addresses; and (v) navigation throughout the Site. (collectively 'Traffic Data'). This Traffic Data is anonymous information that does not personally identify you. We use this Traffic Data to analyze trends, administer the Site, track the movement of members and visitors, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. Panraven also collects personal information when you organize and share your media and content on the Site. How does Panraven use Customer Information? Our primary goal in collecting Customer Information is to provide members with a personalized, relevant, user-friendly experience with the Service. Here are the ways we use Customer Information to enhance this experience: Customer Communication: We use Customer Information in communications to our members. We want to keep you informed of Site feature improvements, exciting events on the Site, member promotions, and occasional promotional offers from Panraven partners or third parties that may be of interest to you. We will also need to contact you if you place an order from us to keep you apprised of your order status. Only Panraven (or agents working on behalf of Panraven under confidentiality agreements) will send you these direct mailings. We consider this an important component of our Service (see Panraven Terms of Service), and we commit to keeping our communications to a minimum. You have control over how we communicate with you and can control your individual settings within My Profile. Customer Satisfaction: We use Customer Information to make your Panraven experience more enjoyable. Because we can identify each member uniquely upon log in, we can offer you a personalized experience in your password-protected account. Furthermore, we may use information from your profile (e.g. demographics, preferences) to filter content or promotions that may be of highest interest to you. Note: one reason we are able to offer promotions that are specifically relevant to you is that we reserve the right to use aggregated, anonymous data (i.e. information that explains the differences among segments of Panraven's membership). Your Customer Information will never be personally identifiable when used for these purposes. Customer Convenience: We use Customer Information to make your experience more convenient and efficient. For example, when you order a printed version of your story (or storybook), we will ask for your credit card information and mailing address. By granting us permission in the checkout process to keep your billing information, you will not need to fill out this information each and every time you make a purchase. With whom does Panraven share Customer Information? Panraven shares Customer Information with third party intermediaries (e.g. credit card authorization companies, printing partners, merchandise distributors, email vendors, etc.) who help us run the Service. Your Customer Information is provided to these third parties solely for the purpose of fulfilling your request. Third party intermediaries do not store, retain, access or otherwise use your Customer Information other than as necessary to provide you with the Service. Who sees your media and stories after they have been posted online? You decide who can view your media and content. By default, all of your photos, text and stories are private and can only be seen by you. Unless you explicitly make them available to your friends (within or outside the Panraven community) or the entire membership, others will have no way to access your media or stories. If you share your media and content with select people, they do not have the capability on the Site to share it with others. If you share publicly, anyone will be able to view your media and/or content. Panraven employees or employees of partner companies that provide services to Panraven may see your text and photos while they are uploaded, edited, shared or printed. In addition, Panraven employees may view or review your photos or personal account information to evaluate, validate, or resolve issues with your account. Does Panraven use "IP addresses", cookies and other tracking technology? Panraven uses IP addresses and cookies in limited ways, as follows: IP addresses: The network gives you an IP address each time you log on to the Internet, so that the network knows where to send information (e.g. web pages) to your computer. As such, it is a unique identifier, allowing online information to be sent to the right place. In general, we use IP addresses as part of our Traffic Data to better understand the geographic distribution of our membership. We also use IP addresses to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our Web site. Cookies: Contrary to popular belief, cookies do not extract private or personal information from your computer's memory. The purpose of a cookie is only to record information you provide voluntarily upon registering or visiting the site. Cookies are tiny files placed onto the hard drive of your computer the first time you visit our Site that enable our server to "remember" you when you return. Panraven cookies are not tied to personally identifiable information. Currently, Panraven intends to make limited use of cookies for the purpose of delivering content and advertising specific to your interests. For example, we may use cookies to retain your personal preferences, hold session information for a "shopping cart," or save your display name and/or password so you do not need to re-enter them each time you log in. Advice on Deleting or Limiting Cookies: You can delete cookies and/or change your cookie settings at any time in your web browser. Within cookie settings, you have the option to accept all cookies, be notified when a cookie is set, or reject all cookies. If you choose to reject all cookies, you may be unable to use certain parts of the Service. Please consult your web browser's Help to learn more about how to delete cookies and modify your cookie settings. Clear Gifs (Web Beacons/Web Bugs): We use a software technology called clear gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons/Web Bugs), which helps us better manage content on our site by informing us what content is effective. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier that are used to track the online movements of Web users. We also use clear gifs in HTML-based emails to let us know which recipients have opened the emails. This allows us to gauge the effectiveness of our communications and marketing campaigns. Members can "opt out" of receiving emails via the unsubscribe link included in all emails. Clear gifs are not tied to users' personally identifiable information. What are the safeguards and security procedures in place to protect your information from loss, misuse, or alteration? Your Customer Information is password-protected. We strongly recommend that only people you trust have access to your password and that you change it frequently. If you are using a public or otherwise shared computer (e.g. in a library, school, etc.), we strongly recommend that you sign out of your Panraven account and close your browser before leaving the computer. This will prevent others from accessing your account and Customer Information. Because Panraven is particularly sensitive to the protection of minors on the Internet, children under the age of are not eligible to be primary account holders. Panraven employs secure socket layer ('SSL') - a specialized encryption and security technology - to protect your Customer Information when you place an order. This is primarily to ensure safe transmission of your credit card, billing and password information. Rest assured that we limit access of Customer Information to those employees who need it to carry out their jobs. Panraven will never ask you for your password in an unsolicited phone call or email. The only time you will be asked for your display name and password is when you log into the service or if that information is essential to fix a service issue. Children Under 13 Years Old We do not use our Service to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13. Children under 13 may not participate on the Site or use the Service at any time. What if your information is lost or stolen? Your Customer Information may not be accessible to you even if you choose to rejoin or reactivate your account at a later date. Information on a cancelled account necessary for the purposes of maintaining business records, including records of credit transactions and account ownership, will be retained in accordance with applicable law. What else should you know about your Customer Information?
